She might be an astronaut...

...or might just have standard toddler OCD. All she can think about lately seems to be the Moon and "twinkle twinkle little" stars. We watched tonight before bedtime for about 10 minutes as the sky cleared of clouds and gave us a fabulous 360 degree view of space and a brilliant half moon. I tried to capture it after she went to bed, but either the camera won't cooperate, or I haven't found the magical combination of manual settings yet.

  • That's awesome! There surely are worse things a toddler could be obsessed with! Hope someday you see her suited up to blast off :o)

  • It is entirely possible. At 21 months old she is hanging/climbing on anything within reach. She isn't happy in the swing unless you push her hard enough to come within 15 degrees of horizontal, at which point the only thing keeping her from requesting "More high, Dada!" is her incessant collisions with tree branches. Tonight, we sat on my tailgate and waited again for the moon to emerge from behind the clouds. She did her best to sing "Twinkle twinkle little star," -but she nailed the hand motions!

When the moon emerged, I thought that she somehow might have missed it. Then I looked at her face and realized that she saw it, but was utterly speechless - gaping jaw and all. I love her more every single day.
